About The Position

Oneida Health Cancer Care, a member of the Roswell Park Care Network, is looking for a Registered Infusion Oncology Nurse for the day shift at our William L. Griffin Medical Oncology Center located in Oneida. This position is responsible for coordinating patient care and utilizing specialized judgment and skills related to chemotherapy and infusion. This position reports to the Lead Infusion Nurse. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team while providing the highest levels of patient safety and experience. Requirements

• Associate in Nursing (Required)
• New York RN (Required)

Nice To Haves

• BLS (Preferred)
• ONCC Oncology Nurse Certification (Preferred)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy (Preferred)
• Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)
• Recent chemo/infusion: 2 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating specialized knowledge in chemotherapy administration and non-chemotherapy agents intravenously and/or by injection as prescribed.
• Demonstrating skill and competency in venipuncture and venous device access.
• Remaining calm and professional in crisis and emergent situations.
• Collaborating with the care team regarding patients and treatments.
• Keeping neat records and preparing reports in a timely manner.
• Having a customer service attitude when interacting with patients and families.
• Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for staff and patients in accordance with quality standards.
• Demonstrating proficiency in computer skills for electronic records management systems.
• Advocating for patients and their caregivers as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
• Empowering our patients and their families about their cancer treatment and what to expect, medication side effects, and advanced directives.
