About The Position

The Infusion RN - Per Diem manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The role involves providing age-appropriate care from patients aged 8 years and older, including geriatric patients, and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the individual needs of all patients served.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Current Nevada RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Professional customer service skills.
• Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred.

Nice To Haves

• ONS/ONCC Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or willingness to complete within 6 months.
• Two years minimum nursing experience preferred.
• Previous infusion nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Performs admission assessments according to unit standards.
• Identifies and documents patient needs and treatment plans upon admission.
• Identifies patients requiring IV therapy and documents their needs.
• Assists with telemedicine using connected electronic tools.
• Develops and communicates realistic treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Collaborates with physicians to ensure treatment plans are implemented.
• Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary for implementing medical treatment plans.
• Administers medications and IV therapy according to hospital policies.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans and interventions.
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
