The Infusion RN manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The role involves providing age-appropriate care from the age of 8 years old through the geriatric patient based on the population served. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team, demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and meet the individual needs of all patients served.

  • Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
  • Performs admission assessment upon admission or in accordance with specific unit standards.
  • Identifies and documents patient needs and treatment plan upon admission.
  • Identifies patients requiring IV therapy who are high risk and will require long-term therapy or have other critical IV-related needs.
  • Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic treatment plan for each patient in collaboration with the patient/family/significant other.
  • Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to implement medical treatment plans, nursing interventions, and procedures.
  • Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and the patient's response to ensure overall quality of care.
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current Nevada RN license.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred.
  • ONS/ONCC Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or willingness to complete within 6 months.
  • Two (2) years minimum nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous Infusion nursing experience preferred.
  • No state income tax.
