About The Position

TempToFT Responsibilities: Clinical Care Perform venipuncture and IV catheter insertion with technical proficiency. Administer IV medications, IV iron, fluids, and other infusion therapies per provider orders and clinical guidelines/protocols. Assess patients before, during, and after infusions; identify early signs of adverse reactions and respond appropriately. Manage infusion schedules, pre-infusion screenings, and post-infusion observation periods. Ensure proper handling, mixing (if applicable), and storage of infusion medications. Uphold infection control standards, including aseptic technique for all IV-related procedures. Patient Education and Support Deliver care that is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and aligned with the FQHC mission. Communicate clearly with patients and families and ensure understanding of after-care instructions. Documentation and Compliance Document all nursing care, infusion details, vital signs, reactions, and education in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and in real time. Ensure signed consents, provider orders, and insurance authorizations are received prior to infusion appointments. Report and document adverse events, medication errors, and incident reports per policy. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing IV administration in an outpatient environment. Coordination and Workflow Travel regularly to designated WFHC sites based on operational needs and staffing. Collaborate with providers, support staff, and leadership to ensure infusion workflows run smoothly. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives related to infusion services. Assist in maintaining infusion supply inventory and equipment readiness across assigned locations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Provide comprehensive patient education regarding infusion procedures, potential side effects, and follow-up care. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required; infusion, emergency, or critical care experience strongly preferred. Experience in outpatient care, community health, or FQHC settings preferred. Licenses/Certifications Valid and unrestricted Florida RN license. BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. IV therapy certification is strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in venipuncture, peripheral IV catheter placement, and infusion management. Strong patient assessment and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently across multiple sites with minimal supervision. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Proficiency with EHR systems. Ability to remain calm and professional in urgent or high-volume situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required; infusion, emergency, or critical care experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid and unrestricted Florida RN license.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Expertise in venipuncture, peripheral IV catheter placement, and infusion management.
  • Strong patient assessment and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient care, community health, or FQHC settings preferred.
  • IV therapy certification is strongly preferred.
