About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician II, Infusion at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute plays a crucial role in supporting pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position is primarily responsible for providing technical support in various pharmacy locations, ensuring that medication orders are filled accurately and efficiently. The technician will work onsite, fully engaged in the pharmacy environment, contributing to the overall mission of the institute, which is dedicated to conquering cancer and related diseases through innovative research and patient care. In this role, the Pharmacy Technician II will practice in accordance with all relevant federal, state, and institutional policies, regulations, and standards. The technician will gain proficiency in advanced preparations while filling medication orders, ensuring timely delivery of medications and supplies. The position requires the use of multiple systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Inventory Management Systems, to document duties and identify any issues that may arise during operations. Additionally, the technician will maintain the pharmacy inventory by sorting, stocking, and checking expiration dates, while also performing quality control steps to meet safety and regulatory requirements. Cleaning of both sterile and non-sterile areas of the pharmacy is also part of the responsibilities, along with training other employees as assigned. The technician may be required to cross-cover other locations or areas, such as materials management or outpatient services, and will perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy team effectively.
