About The Position

Delivers pharmaceutical care through the provision of patient-centered clinical service, medication information, education, medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. Responsible for ensuring safety in the compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other infusion drugs. Provide patient education and actively participating in clinical decision making. Support policy and program implementation to ensure safety of staff and patients during the preparation, administration, and monitoring of chemotherapy. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist to supervise and approve the work done by the technician before dispensing. The pharmacist is the first line supervisor of the supportive personnel in the day-to-day activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy and/or Pharm. D.
  • Current license by the Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Advanced training (residency, fellowship, and/or board certification) preferred and/or previous hospital experience.
