The Systems Architect position is a remote role focused on defining computer system and storage architecture standards and best practices. The architect will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable computer system and storage architectures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role involves staying up-to-date on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in infrastructure architecture and recommending innovative solutions. The architect will maintain the Infrastructure Systems Roadmap, conduct regular vendor communication to build relationships, monitor vendor performance, and understand vendor roadmaps. Additionally, the role supports long-range planning and budgeting activities, performs vendor and product selection collaboratively, administers infrastructure technology pilots and proof of concept initiatives, prepares infrastructure funding requests, and ensures alignment of infrastructure systems architecture with business continuity and disaster recovery goals. The architect will also conduct cost-benefit analyses for potential technology investments, plan capacity and performance requirements, optimize system performance and resource utilization, implement data protection and disaster recovery strategies, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
