About The Position

The Infrastructure Systems Analyst is a key member of the Infrastructure Team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the college's core technology infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, Wi-Fi, cloud platforms, storage, firewalls, telecom/VoIP systems, and collaboration with Public Safety for IT-enabled physical security systems such as cameras and access controls. This position focuses on the planning, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems, network architecture, data center operations, and cloud-based services. The role requires strong technical expertise and active participation in projects to align infrastructure strategy with institutional goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure systems administration and support.
  • Proficiency in networking, virtualization, cloud services, and storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, VoIP systems, and security systems integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to routinely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and crawl to install and maintain service network infrastructure, including under desks and in crawl spaces; and travels to various locations to conduct assessments and site inspections on network equipment.
  • Ability to pass additional background check required by CJIS

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Operations: As a member of the Infrastructure Team, provides assistance with all day to day department operations. Provides technical support to area experts in troubleshooting and maintaining all network, computing, cloud infrastructure and collaboration suites.
  • Enterprise Backup: Responsible for server and storage backup hardware and procedures, ensures reliability and availability of critical enterprise data.
  • Telecommunications Operations: Responsible for maintenance and operations of College telecommunications systems. Performs adds/moves/changes and coordinates with outside vendors for installation and upkeep.
  • Physical infrastructure: Coordinates installation and maintenance of cabling, uninterruptible power supplies and associated datacenter infrastructure with Technology department and outside vendors.
  • Network Support: Assists Infrastructure Team members in maintaining essential network services and protocols including wired and wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, etc. Maintains day to day operations of network support and troubleshooting, ensures network uptime and health.
  • Systems support: Assists other Infrastructure Team members in administration of virtualization platforms, cloud computing and data storage systems.
  • Incident Response: Acts as an escalation point for major outages, infrastructure incidents or cybersecurity responses.
  • Budgeting and expenditure: Assists with infrastructure expenditures and provides input for budget recommendations related to refresh cycles including contract renewal and licensing.
  • Project Management: Participates in cross-functional projects involving infrastructure and integrations to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation.
  • Cybersecurity: Collaborates with IT Security and Client Services to align infrastructure with cybersecurity requirements and end-user needs.
  • External Networking: Acts as liaison to Colleges of the Fenway Network Managers group. Participates in meetings and contributes to planning, maintenance, and design of the Colleges of the Fenway Area Network (COFAN).
  • Public Safety Coordination: Supports IT-enabled security systems including cameras and access controls. Collaborates with campus security to ensure system availability and compliance.
  • Criminal Justice Information Services: Serves as the CJIS Technical Representative to support MassArt Public Safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Deputy Chief Information Officer or Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO)
