About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Program Manager to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health. Responsibilities: Manages the overall execution of NHLBI IT support services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objective Supervises and mentor teams of IT professionals, project managers, engineers and architects to foster technical excellence and operational readiness. Oversees the operations of the Service Desk, Configuration Management, and Infrastructure Operations Managing and operating an IT infrastructure (on prem and multi cloud infrastructure) for a premier biomedical research organization serving both the intramural and extramural research communities Implements project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe) to ensure efficient project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout. Maintains and regularly updates a searchable library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all tasks Ensures timely delivery and high standards of quality for all deliverables Recommends process improvements Facilitates regular communication and reporting on program status, risks, and issues to ITAC, OM, and NHLBI leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale IT programs.
  • Experience managing federal contracts
  • Experience working in a biomedical research, or healthcare setting.
  • 5+ years experience with ITIL and Agile/SAFe methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills with a track record of improving operational efficiency.
  • PMP Certified
  • Scrum Master
