About The Position

The St. Cloud Public Utilities Department is looking to hire a Infrastructure Services Operator 1/Limited. This is a skilled and semi-skilled position that involves work in the water distribution and wastewater collections systems. The Infrastructure Services Operator 1/Limited serves as a member of the Public Utilities Team. The Infrastructure Services Operator 1/Limited performs operations, maintenance, repair, replacement, inspection, and assessment of public utilities infrastructure, including the wastewater collection and conveyance system, water distribution system, stormwater collections and conveyance system and other infrastructure; in accordance with established standard operating procedures and state, local, and federal regulations. The Infrastructure Services Operator 1/Limited may be assigned to other divisions of the Public Utilities Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Class D driver's license.
  • License must be unrestricted except for corrective lenses.
  • Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License with no Air Brake Restrictions with Tanker Endorsement or be able to obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Driver's License must be unrestricted except for corrective lenses and Automatic Transmission Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV).
  • Applicants hired as an ISO Limited have 12 months to complete the requirement and attain the Class A CDL minimum qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and maintenance of wastewater, stormwater, and water distribution infrastructure.
  • Operate a wide variety of heavy and light duty equipment, attachments, and trailers.
  • Maintains, calibrates, and repairs standard and specialty utility equipment.
  • Assists in the response of emergency calls, including but not limited to, water main breaks, water outages, sewer backups, sinkholes, power outages.
  • Communicate with the public in a professional, respectful, and informative manner.
