We are seeking a motivated, forward-thinking, and enterprise-minded leader to join our firm as the Digital Infrastructure & Information Security Team Lead. This role serves as the central leader for Sequoia’s digital infrastructure and information security execution, owning the coordination, oversight, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure initiatives across internal teams and our Managed Service Provider (MSP). In alignment with Sequoia’s growth and Vision 2030, this role builds on and evolves existing responsibilities within the Technology function, providing dedicated ownership of day-to-day operational oversight, project execution, and elements of cybersecurity program management to enable greater scalability and focus across the team. This leader will oversee day-to-day operations, medium and select large-scale infrastructure projects, and partner closely with the MSP and Compliance department to operationalize the firm’s cybersecurity program—ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment that supports a growing, multi-location organization and ongoing M&A activity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure that they deliver the contracted services effectively. This includes managing service level agreements (SLAs), tracking performance, review support relationship & capacity, and maintaining and facilitating up-to-date expectations and communication between the organization and the MSP. Includes effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and providing updates on technology infrastructure performance, changes, and potential issues that could impact the organization.
  • In partnership with VP of Business Systems, assist with the budget related to Digital Infrastructure through invoice approval oversight with Finance. Provide support to the CTO in budgeting, optimizing costs, negotiating with the MSP for cost-effective services, and identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining service quality.
  • Oversight of User Support: Manage the technical support team & its team members. Serve as an escalation point for technical support cases. Participate in escalation efforts with the MSP. Assist with diagnosing, resolving and communicating around technology infrastructure related incidents.
  • Assist in overseeing and maintaining Knowledge Base documentation of the technology infrastructure, configurations, and changes to ensure transparency, facilitate troubleshooting, and support future planning as appropriate.
  • Continuously assess and identify ways to scale support across our growing employee count and geographic footprint.
  • Oversee and/or lead special projects and technology implementations as needed. This may include project planning, vendor selection, ensuring on-time on-budget delivery, quality assurance, risk assessment and mitigation, change management, post-mortem evaluation, and documentation.
  • Support Digital Skills as necessary in providing training and support to staff members on technology tools, procedures, and best practices, ensuring that they can effectively utilize the infrastructure to meet their objectives.
  • Work with the CTO and Vice President of Technology to stay current with technology trends and evaluating new technologies as needed for potential adoption. This includes researching and making recommendations for infrastructure enhancements that can improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the MSP (Fit Tech) / Compliance / CTO in oversight of our overall cybersecurity posture ensuring the technology infrastructure meets security and compliance standards.
  • Ensure the following are in place and kept current: Technology Vendor Inventory Maintenance: Maintain an inventory of technology vendors, their services, and their cybersecurity postures, and assessing their alignment with the organization's security standards. Responsible for conducting comprehensive security due diligence reviews of technology vendors to ensure the security and compliance of services and products provided. Written Information Security Program (WISP): Developing, implementing, and managing an information security program that encompasses policies, procedures, and technical safeguards to protect sensitive data and systems. Disaster Recovery Plan/Business Continuity: Planning, documenting, and implementing strategies to ensure that the organization can quickly recover from general business disruptions or data loss, minimizing the impact on operations. Policies and Procedures: establish and coordinate policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and insurance coverage to ensure regulatory compliance. Cybersecurity Playbook: live document is kept with an internal view into the policies and procedures being adopted, expected, and administered across the firm related to systems, data, and their security.
  • Ensure the following is taking place and responded to by all associated parties Management and maintenance of cybersecurity access, controls, and permissions.
  • Implement improvements to cybersecurity program in coordination with the MSP.
  • Monitoring for vulnerabilities, implementing security protocols, and ensuring that the infrastructure complies with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Managing the cybersecurity program training, including overseeing and managing training campaigns, users, and phishing tests to improve staff awareness and knowledge of cybersecurity threats.
  • Data security oversight of primary infrastructure systems (Network, O365, Box, Cisco Webex, Data Lake/Warehouse etc.): Overseeing data security measures, including encryption, data access controls, and data loss prevention, to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Responsible for working with the VP, Business Systems in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing building access and burglar alarm systems to ensure the protection of the organization's physical assets and to provide a safe and secure work environment.
