About the position

The Network Infrastructure Engineer will provide technology support to current and prospective clients, focusing on the implementation of IT solutions, training, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. This role emphasizes client service and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a commitment to professional growth through certifications and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Designing IT solutions with an emphasis on manufacturer standards and best practices
  • Manage the installation of network infrastructure equipment including switches, routers, wireless, and security appliances at client sites
  • Identifying and escalating cross selling opportunities
  • Establishing rapport and trust with key client decision makers
  • Meet with prospective clients, evaluate needs via technical assessments and deliver appropriate recommendations

Requirements

  • Fortinet NSE 4 (Network Security Professional) or higher certification is required; NSE 5, NSE 6, or NSE 7 certifications are highly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Fortinet products and network infrastructure technologies, including advanced firewall configurations, SDWAN, and VPN
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS, with a deep focus on Fortinet's security and networking solutions

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous IT consulting experience with mid-market clients, particularly in designing and implementing Fortinet-based solutions
  • Other relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP or Palo Alto PCNSE
  • Experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and FortiAP wireless solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering exceptional hands-on technical support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with external clients and stakeholders
