About The Position

Manages and develops the network operations function for an organization. Evaluates current, ongoing, and future infrastructure needs; and recommends changes. Oversees the day-to-day performance and activities of the team, including Network Engineers, to ensure service quality and network efficiency. Develops and implements department strategic plans, processes, and procedures; and enhances the integration between the team and other departments. Essential Job Functions Ensures the data center remains ahead of demand in terms of storage space, processing power, and connectivity. Manages the budget and leads improvements and growth to the network operations processes and capabilities. Ensures that changes to the network and infrastructure are planned and executed to meet the agreed dates for service provision. Improves customer service; provides expert guidance in handling service issues and customer problems and questions; and ensures the correct technical teams are involved. Maintains and monitors staffing levels and schedule to ensure that the team can meet the demand and respond in a timely manner to system incidents and outages. Mentors, develops, and trains the team, and works with other departments to achieve common business goals. Develop documentation related to the department's work processes which is up to date and accurately reflects the day-to-day running of the team. Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or related field preferred. Comparable experience in the IT field can be substituted for college degrees.
  • CCNA Certification and 5 years of experience building and managing Cisco network infrastructure.
  • Experience in data center virtualization, network architecture/design, software defined networking and information security and network security domains required.
  • At least 5 years of experience deploying and managing Windows Server systems including Active Directory.
  • Azure/AWS infrastructure experience.
  • Azure/Cloud/Veeam backup experience.
  • Experience as a technical lead or senior engineer/architect for medium to large IT projects required.
  • Position requires excellent leadership skills, including team building, mentoring, meeting management, and focus under pressure.
  • Must function independently with minimum supervising, including researching and solving technical issues, and be able to handle multiple simultaneous projects with deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills in evaluating situations, making recommendations and taking prompt, effective corrective action including the ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans that include milestones, tasks, and target dates of completion.
  • Position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate to people with a variety of cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy in representing the department, both internally and in its contacts with members.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills required.
  • Must be highly organized, pay attention to detail, and deliver exceptional follow-through
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of end-users and management.
