About The Position

Assigned as the Network Support Center Lead; responsible to provide management design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, analyze, and customer support to the Customer’s customers. The NSC is responsible for the network infrastructure, in coordination with the base communications squadron, in all of the customer’s occupied buildings. The NSC also provides daily/weekly updates to the customer’s staff as required. The NSC Lead shall coordinate with the Government lead to provide operational support services. Requirements

  • 5-8 years of directly related experience in network administration and support. Experience in supporting classified intelligence networks is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to lead a small team of three other technicians providing network and systems support.
  • Information Systems Support - Provide support to the following information systems, to include but not limited to, JWICS, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, NSANet, and Tier networks.
  • Maintenance of Plant Cabling, Public Address Systems, and Telecommunications Construction Support also expected. Ability to follow Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and DoD directives. Conform to the following industry practices; Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), National Electric Code, and International Organization of Standardization (ISO 9000).
  • Systems Administration – Install, support, and maintain all computer systems and servers. Plan and respond to service outages and diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution. Provide system design and analysis. Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning.
  • Install, test, maintain, upgrade and develop production and development servers and application software. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled backups on production and development systems to include, validation of backups, backup plan, disaster recovery plan and backup of data prior to ASI.

  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • IAT-II: minimum required Security+ CE, CCNA or CCNP Preferred, or GICSP, or GSEC, or SSCP

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supporting classified intelligence networks is a plus.
  • CCNA or CCNP Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
  • Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
  • Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
  • May provide work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Attend meetings and provide status briefings to Project Manager or Customer as required.
  • Work with the Project Manager or Customer in developing solutions to customer requirements.
