About The Position

MGK has 100+ years' of experience focusing on sustainable & environmentally conscious ways to protect families and crops from pests around the world, using our synthetic and certified organic, botanically based pesticide products. The IT Infrastructure Intern supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of MGK’s technology infrastructure. This role involves assisting with network, server, and system configurations, ensuring optimal performance and security. The intern collaborates with the IT team to troubleshoot technical issues, deploy hardware and software, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure projects. This position provides hands-on experience in areas such as networking, virtualization, active directory, cybersecurity, and Office 365 administration while gaining insights into industry best practices and standards. This is a full-time, paid internship located at our Brooklyn Park location, with an hourly rate of $20/hour. The internship will run from May 26 through August 14, with some flexibility on dates depending on availability. Program Requirements Reliable personal transportation is required. Housing is not provided. This internship does not include a housing stipend or housing assistance. This internship is full-time and onsite in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Requirements

  • Active student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer & Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related degree
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Minimum of 6-12 credits in advanced Computer Science-related courses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving skills, time management, and customer service skills, including ability to be assertive and diplomatic
  • Previous work or classroom experience in one of the following: information systems, systems audit, information systems security, or data analytics

Responsibilities

  • Acquire an understanding of MGK’s information systems, managed technology solutions, security architecture, and how it is designed to operate daily.
  • Contribute as assigned to daily security management tasks.
  • Ensure implemented solutions meet expectations and assist with product maintenance and lifecycle management.
  • Assist with maintaining and contributing to best practices documentation, including knowledge base materials and incident response procedures.
  • Accurately maintain and comply with documentation, communication, time entry, and administrative procedures in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with user departments to understand requirements and ensure solutions meet their needs.
