About The Position

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in our Seattle, Portland, Anchorage, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Washington D.C. offices. This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of our offices. The Infrastructure Engineer implements and maintains the organization's IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring security, scalability, and performance. The position involves managing hybrid compute/storage resources, hybrid identity services and controls, and Exchange Online centric messaging services. The position will work closely with other firm teams to deliver outstanding Infrastructure services while maintaining strict policy controls. Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in managing Active Directory (AD), including user/group management, GPOs, and security policies, along with experience in Entra for identity federation, hybrid environments, and cloud-based authentication solutions.
  • 3+ years’ experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of virtual machines, storage, and networking within a VMware environment
  • 3+ years’ experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server (on-premises and hybrid) and Mimecast, including mail flow, security, and backup/recovery processes.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Windows Server Administration: Proficient in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (2008-2022), including orchestration solutions and security controls.
  • 3+ years’ experience in using PowerShell for automation of system management tasks, including server configuration, Exchange administration, and VMware operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Communications or equivalent experience required
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and Identity Services - Ability to manage and troubleshoot AD infrastructure, including user/group policies, trusts, permissions, and directory synchronization with Entra. Ability to manage and troubleshoot Entra access controls including federation, API controls and MFA solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Exchange Online and Mimecast - Proficiency in using Exchange Online tools for mailbox management and mail flow controls and troubleshooting. Skilled in using PowerShell for automation and managing compliance policies. Familiarity with the Mimecast (or similar vendor) secure email gateway services and configuration.
  • Strong skills in administering clustered VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter), including provisioning, configuring, and managing virtual machines, storage, and networking. Experience optimizing vMotion, VMware HA, resource pools, and distributed virtual switches to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Basic knowledge of orchestrating server deployments and automating server management tasks with tools like VMware vSphere and Azure Automation is essential for streamlining operations and maintaining efficient workflows across virtualized environments.
  • Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing file shares, both on-premises and in the cloud. This includes setting up and maintaining Windows File Servers and Storage Area Networks (SAN). Expertise in managing distributed file systems (DFS), configuring access control lists (ACLs). Basic knowledge of Azure Files and Storage Account management. Additionally, the role requires implementing data archiving and tiered storage strategies to optimize costs and performance

  • System Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitor systems and networks for performance, security vulnerabilities, and resolve issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage data backup solutions, ensuring proper disaster recovery plans are in place and functional.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide expert-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues across the organization.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Manage cloud services and ensure seamless integration with on-premise systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, system updates, and infrastructure changes.
  • Capacity Planning: Assess current and future IT infrastructure needs, planning for hardware and software upgrades to accommodate growth.
  • Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operational functionality.
