The Life Infrastructure team is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong passion for service. This role involves providing AWS tenant support for over 10 tenants within our Life AWS account. The individual will be a member of the Life Infrastructure team that is responsible for 7/24/365 support across multiple products and teams, and the selected individual will be responsible for supporting the Life area during these periods. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the life insurance industry combined with advanced AWS development expertise. Candidates are expected to apply User Experience (UX) principles to improve usability and enhance interactions between customers and products, with a focus on the life insurance domain. Key responsibilities include: Delivering tenant support across multiple teams Designing, building, implementing, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining Supporting hardware, software, and SaaS solutions to enable enterprise infrastructure capabilities. This work will utilize modern infrastructure, testing, security, DevOps, engineering, and architectural best practices, typically performed under minimal guidance. Requirements

  • Certifications: Must have completed AWS certifications including DevOps Professional, Developer Associate, and Solutions Architect Associate.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated success in driving product efficiency through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and other tools.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills with proven ability to manage multiple, diverse stakeholders across various business areas and leadership levels.
  • Regulatory & Business Domain Experience: Experience gathering and interpreting business requirements to design scalable solutions within regulated environments such as life insurance, healthcare, and finance.
  • Customer Requirements & Solution Design: Proven track record of collecting and analyzing Life customer technical requirements to propose AWS-centric solutions, particularly focusing on services like RDS, and developing comprehensive implementation and integration plans.
  • Collaboration & Infrastructure Scaling: Extensive collaboration with subject matter experts to design and scale infrastructure solutions aligned with evolving business needs, including developing tools for change management, incident support, and resiliency, especially in the life insurance domain.
  • Programming & Scripting Proficiency: Proficient in multiple languages and frameworks including Python (with SMTPlib, boto3), Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript, TypeScript, Rust, Go, Scala, and Terraform for infrastructure engineering tasks.
  • Database & Version Control: Strong experience managing databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, utilizing version control tools like Git, and applying regular expressions (regex) for data parsing and validation.
  • Operational Tools & Platforms: Familiar with platforms including ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Splunk, Bruno, DBeaver, Outlook API, and integration of SMTP email services to enhance operational workflows and incident management.
  • AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Expertise in provisioning and managing AWS resources using core services such as S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, RDS, DynamoDB, Glue, ECS, EventBridge, and CloudFront.
  • Advanced AWS Services: Prior experience leveraging advanced AWS services including QuickSight, Lake Formation, X-Ray, SNS, SQS, SES, ACM, WAF, Connect, Lex, SSM, and Amplify to build scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Cloud & Data Center Management: Proven ability to provision and manage resources across AWS cloud environments and enterprise data centers, ensuring platform availability, security, and stability.
