About The Position

Owens Corning’s Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company’s growing global business needs. The Infrastructure Engineer – Wireless Connectivity is a key member of the Global Infrastructure & Operations (GIO) organization and is responsible for the performance, implementation, and engineering of wireless connectivity platforms and solutions. This engineer role will focus on partnering across GIS, GIO, and with our operations partner to drive business value through execution and problem-solving. The Infrastructure Engineer – Wireless Connectivity ensures platform integrity, manages lifecycle tasks, and drives improvements across enterprise connectivity. Responsibilities include maintaining networking platforms (WAN, LAN, WiFi) and supporting project delivery with a primary focus on wireless connectivity platforms and engineering. This role will leverage automation and platform efficiencies to improve deployment speed and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in connectivity architecture, with a focus on enterprise-scale environments
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning
  • Experience working and managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to drive positive outcomes
  • Experience interacting at multiple levels of an organization with a specific focus on delivering results and strong communication skills
  • Experienced with IT policies and procedures, methodologies, technology standards, protocols, roadmaps, services, and operations
  • Proven track record of providing technical consultation and collaboration
  • Knowledge of core connectivity platforms and technologies including WAN, LAN, and wireless connectivity
  • Understanding of IPAM, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Domain Name System (DNS) and how these impact connectivity environments
  • Proven ability to partner globally and build relationships with leaders and stakeholders across a region
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting for infrastructure management (e.g., Ansible)
  • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its efficient usage in infrastructure environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific business processes and operations locally and globally
  • Build relationships within the organization, cross-functionally, and with key business stakeholders; continuously enhance connection to remain aligned with core objectives
  • Understand how IT infrastructure and services are directly aligned with the company's strategic objectives by regularly engaging with vendors and key business stakeholders focused on distributed, enterprise, and cloud technologies and solutions
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing the health, capacity, and performance of connectivity platforms, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and mitigating risks
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the lifecycle of connectivity platforms — including patching, upgrades, and refresh strategies for the region
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to design and implement enhancements that significantly improve reliability, efficiency, and supportability of connectivity platforms
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, templates, and automation for wireless network design, deployment, and configuration—ensuring consistent, secure, and scalable delivery of Wi‑Fi services across sites
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging wireless technologies, tools, and optimization platforms (e.g., RF planning tools, telemetry, AI‑driven performance insights) to improve reliability, coverage quality, roaming performance, and overall user experience
  • Own complex wireless incident resolution, including deep‑dive RF analysis, interference identification, firmware/driver issue detection, and end-to-end root cause analysis—driving long‑term corrective actions to enhance platform stability
  • Lead small‑to‑medium scale wireless connectivity projects and platform modernization efforts, such as access point refresh cycles, controller upgrades, new site expansions, warehouse mobility enhancements, and adoption of next-generation wireless protocols
  • Integrate wireless security and compliance requirements into architecture and operational processes, including WPA3 enablement, certificate‑based authentication, device segmentation, NAC integration, secure IoT onboarding, and adherence to enterprise security standards
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across wireless configuration management, monitoring, reporting, firmware lifecycle workflows, and user onboarding processes to reduce manual tasks and improve engineering throughput
  • Continuously optimize wireless infrastructure performance through proactive capacity planning, RF tuning, channel/power optimization, QoS policy refinement, and alignment with evolving business and device needs
  • Collaborate with network architecture, security, and operations teams to design enhancements that improve resilience, reduce interference, strengthen segmentation, and ensure the wireless environment supports mission‑critical operations
  • Act as a technical lead and subject matter expert for infrastructure-related projects and initiatives within the region
  • Ensure new applications and services are onboarded efficiently and that connectivity platforms are fully aligned with evolving business needs
  • Participate actively in capacity planning and infrastructure design reviews
  • Work in close partnership with infrastructure operations, security, and application teams to ensure cohesive and reliable platform management
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of platform configurations, standards, and engineering decisions for the region
