This position will be the senior engineer for a team responsible for ensuring workstation software packaging, deployments, vulnerability remediation, and security patching. As part of a larger team, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality Computer, Network, Storage, and End-User Infrastructure technology solutions while providing ongoing support to the business. The Senior Engineer independently completes infrastructure project assignments and plans, researches, evaluates, designs, and engineers the enterprise's technology infrastructure. This includes providing technical support and troubleshooting, along with cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations. The role also involves producing technical documentation for support and configuration, managing, planning, and maintaining technical platforms, including system upgrades, and monitoring system performance while installing and configuring hardware. Additionally, the Senior Engineer collaborates with other job families, such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, and Business Analysts, to deliver consistent and reliable technology solutions that align with AEP's technology standards, architectures, and best practices.

  • Improve and maintain the Windows workstation patching process and cycle.
  • Actively verify and apply security patches.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for MECM/SCCM procedures and system configurations.
  • Create and deploy application deployment packages through MECM/SCCM.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate day-to-day tasks.
  • Drive vulnerability assessment and remediation work, including escalation support for workstation-related issues.
  • Adhere to all IT governance and Change Management procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor the MECM/SCCM platform and client health on workstations, mitigating identified problems.
  • Verify that all endpoints are included in the MECM/SCCM inventory.
  • Perform routine audits of workstations to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Infrastructure Engineer Senior (SG7): Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Infrastructure Engineer Principal (SG8): Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
