About The Position

Under the guidance of the Manager, Infrastructure Engineering, the Infrastructure Engineer III is responsible for the successful execution of the implementation, integration, maintenance and support of network, compute, and storage platforms. Supports data/server room operations to provide exceedingly available, resilient delivery of services and applications to the enterprise. Serves as a highly influential and technical subject matter expert across multiple platforms including storage, virtual, physical, converged and hyperconverged infrastructure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Serves as a resource to diagnose and resolve complex problems in multiple storage, network, and infrastructure environments including converged, hyperconverged, virtualized, and physical infrastructures. 2. Measures, evaluates, implements, and reviews infrastructure improvement projects to provide a robust and resilient environment to deliver Information Technology (IT) services and applications. 3. Reviews architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical, technical designs, and engineering plans. Consults on space design, media selection, and infrastructure requirements. 4. Designs and prepares the layout of infrastructure floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, specification notes, and details. 5. Develops process improvements and implements automation to improve operations across IT practice areas. 6. Works within a team environment to ensure client standards are met and that all technology systems are incorporated into the overall infrastructure design. 7. Maintains expert level of knowledge in area of expertise by maintaining current certifications, attending seminars or through other related activities. 8. Provides mentoring and knowledge transfer to other Infrastructure Engineers; keeps current with technology trends and standards. 9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in IT infrastructure/engineering is required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Expert knowledge working with Converged infrastructure. Additional hyperconverged experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Object Storage systems.
  • Advanced awareness of infrastructure architectures supporting high-level availability and understanding of hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of the different Cloud Models (Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), etc.)
  • Experience in infrastructure design, re-engineering or re-platforming, involving broad-based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to effect change is required.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with network hardware and technologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting networking issues with the physical, virtual, converged, hyperconverged and storage platforms.
  • Expert knowledge in building, supporting and administering virtualized systems and infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated experience with site-to-site and Disaster Recovery (DR) replication.
  • Advanced knowledge of general storage technologies: Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI), Fibre Channel (FC), Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and implement advanced solutions at a rapid pace.
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency with network hardware and technologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting networking issues with the virtual, converged, hyperconverged and storage platforms.
  • Monitoring and logging tools and strategies for management and troubleshooting of issues in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Must have experience in performance testing, benchmarking, and stress testing.
  • Has the ability to work independently and as part of a matrix team.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Proven ability to design, build and publish results of technology proofs and pilots.
  • Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Must be comfortable and confident in an ambiguous environment.
  • Must be highly organized and resourceful with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Professional certifications such as an IT Infrastructure related certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional hyperconverged experience is preferred.
  • An Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification is preferred.
