Requirements

  • Certifications for building inspector and air monitoring specialist required at time of employment or ability to complete certification within one (1) month of hire.
  • Minimum three (3) months experience of working knowledge of applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.

  • Excellent College degree in environmental health, engineering, architecture, industrial hygiene, or construction management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos surveys to identify and assess the presence of hazardous materials in structures, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive bidding documents, plans, and specifications for asbestos removal projects, ensuring all project requirements are clearly defined.
  • Coordinate and monitor asbestos abatement projects, overseeing the quality control measures during the abatement phase to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records for all assigned projects, including project schedules, permits, and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Facilitate client communication by providing regular progress reports, coordinating project milestones, and assisting with contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform air quality monitoring during asbestos abatement projects to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest technologies, procedures, and regulatory updates in the hazardous waste and environmental industries to maintain project compliance.
  • Report project issues to project managers and collaborate in problem-solving to resolve any technical, safety, or regulatory challenges that arise during project execution.
  • Assist with drafting project drawings and layout plans, ensuring accurate representation of project scope and specifications for asbestos removal and related activities.
  • Support the scheduling of project timelines, preparing cost reports, and tracking project progress to ensure timely completion and budget compliance.
