The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing and implementing an organization's technical infrastructure. This includes designing and implementing physical and virtual server infrastructures, developing disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure systems, and providing overall direction and leadership to a major IT function. The role involves establishing organizational policy and decision-making, directing multiple units of IT professionals, and being a member of the management team reporting to an IT or Line Executive. The Infrastructure Architect shares direct responsibility for overall IT results with peer IT leaders.
