About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Director - IT Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Architect is a leader responsible for designing, integrating, and overseeing complex systems and network environments. This position requires technical expertise in networking and systems engineering and guides the development and management of technical solutions. The role focuses on enterprise infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud datacenters, SaaS services, network and wireless connectivity across business locations, structured cabling, and telephony services. The Infrastructure Architect drives technology change to achieve business goals and advises on technology investments through analysis to meet desired outcomes. This position will help support day-to-day operations while also guiding the evolution of enterprise infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, and security across all platforms. This position requires strong collaboration across technical, security, software development, data, and business teams to align infrastructure with organizational goals. The position will primarily be based in Atlanta, GA, at the Mercedes Benz Stadium but will also work from other locations around Metro Atlanta as needed. Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond quickly to occasional requests for critical assistance. Working events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be required on operational rotation. Some occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with networking technologies in a diverse and distributed IT environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in systems administration, infrastructure management, or cloud administration.
  • Advanced certifications strongly preferred (The Open Group Architecture Framework, AWS, Microsoft, Cisco).
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Passive Optical Network (PON) technologies, Wi-Fi, and LAN infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualization (VMware), Windows Server, enterprise storage, backup technologies, and telephony systems.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and support complex hybrid environments spanning on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor) and IT service management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, including CMDB).
  • Experience applying information security best practices in enterprise environments, including alignment with CIS Benchmarks and secure configuration standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret system performance data and proactively resolve infrastructure issues to maintain uptime and service quality.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, self-directed, and proactive approach to supporting both routine operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Vendor and Project management experience required.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, deployment, and management of enterprise infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Oversee or advise on technology projects, especially new or shared infrastructure solutions, to harmonize infrastructure with the enterprise technology architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technology architecture.
  • Design and help administer LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Passive Optical Network (PON) infrastructure as well as virtualization, storage, and backup systems, optimizing performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Design and help administer identity platforms and Microsoft enterprise cloud services to ensure reliable access and compliance.
  • Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Work with technical leadership team to analyze upcoming business trends and needed capabilities to derive the future-state technology architecture.
  • Define high-level plans to address the gaps between the future and current state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
  • Partner closely with Information Security to ensure architecture is implemented securely, regularly patched for vulnerabilities, and remediation items are properly prioritized.
  • Oversee infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve issues proactively before business impact.
  • Help automate infrastructure administration using scripting and other workflows to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable technical documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and change records.
  • Manage research and selection of hardware, software, product standards, and standard configurations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business teams to align infrastructure with organizational goals.
  • Support and improve IT Service Management processes (incident, change, asset, CMDB) and Project Management through disciplined use of ServiceNow and related tooling.
  • Provide Tier 3 support and technical leadership during escalated incidents, leading root cause analysis and long-term remediation.
  • Lead infrastructure components of disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity strategies.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement, shared accountability, and technical excellence.
