The Infrastructure Administrator position at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) is a full-time role within the Information Technology department, reporting directly to the Infrastructure Architect. The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive support in systems, database, and application administration. The Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for designing and administering the network infrastructure, deploying and supporting various server-based operating systems, including VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft Windows Server. This role requires managing and monitoring Windows Servers, Remote Desktop Services, and SAN infrastructure, as well as overseeing data communication lines. In addition to these responsibilities, the Infrastructure Administrator will participate in group testing and develop disaster recovery plans aimed at detecting faults, minimizing malfunctions, and ensuring system backups. The position also involves providing troubleshooting and support to the applications group for network and server performance issues. The administrator will interact with technical staff to ensure the safe and proper installation of cabling, wiring, and other electrical hardware, and will provide on-call technical support as needed. This role includes providing third-level support for trouble tickets and contributing skills to new and ongoing projects, making the administrator the primary resource for securing networks and server infrastructure. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Infrastructure Administrator will also be expected to train technical support staff on new technologies and common systems-related problems, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle various technical challenges. The role may require working after normal business hours and weekends to minimize disruption to business operations, and travel is expected to be around 20-25%.
