About The Position

Infosys is seeking a Infrastructure Administrator. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex Unix-based infrastructures across Linux, Solaris, and Oracle VM (OVM/OVLM) environments. The role demands deep hands‑on expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to drive modernization, automation, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Memphis, TN or be willing to relocate to the area.
  • This position may require travel in the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 4 years of in Linux/Solaris/OVLM.
  • End‑to-end administration of RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE, and Solaris 10/11 systems.
  • Deep hands‑on experience in Linux (RHEL/Oracle/SUSE) and Solaris (10/11) administration.
  • Strong understanding of OVM / OVLM virtualization technologies.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting OS, hardware, virtualization, and performance issues.
  • Strong scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, Korn).

  • Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, load balancing).
  • Experience in working in large, distributed, mission‑critical environments.
  • Provide mentorship to L1/L2/L3 engineers and conduct knowledge transfer (KT) sessions.
  • Represent Unix/Linux tower during critical bridge calls.
  • Collaborate with customers, architects, and delivery teams to shape infrastructure strategies.
  • Participate in capacity planning, migration strategies, and modernization program
  • Strong communication, leadership, and incident‑management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing complex Unix-based infrastructures across Linux, Solaris, and Oracle VM (OVM/OVLM) environments
  • Drive modernization, automation, and infrastructure transformation initiatives
  • Perform OS installation, upgrades, patching, kernel tuning, security hardening, and lifecycle management
  • Manage filesystem technologies such as ZFS, UFS, VXVM, VxFS, LVM, and storage integrations
  • Administer Zones, LDOMs, virtualization environments, and performance tuning
  • Manage NFS, CIFS, DNS, FTP, SFTP, SSH configuration, and user/group administration
  • Participate in 24x7 on‑call/critical incident handling when required
  • Install, configure, and manage Oracle VM Server for x86 or Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager
  • Design and manage server pools, clustering, and high‑availability configurations
  • Handle VM provisioning, template creation, migration, and capacity planning
  • Integrate OVLM with storage, networking, and enterprise monitoring tools
