About The Position

Shermco Industries is seeking an Infrared Scanner to perform infrared thermographic inspections of electrical systems. The role involves analyzing thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures, preparing detailed inspection reports using company templates, and representing the company professionally on-site as the primary customer interface. Effective communication with internal teams and customer personnel is essential to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results. The position also includes completing administrative duties in a timely manner, such as time tracking, expense reporting, and travel arrangements. Additionally, the Infrared Scanner may support building energy audits and assist with cataloging customers’ electrical and mechanical assets.

Requirements

  • Basic electrical knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience using FLIR software platforms.
  • Thermography certification and experience as an infrared thermographer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required.
  • Must be able to stay Drug-Free; required to pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
  • Must have an acceptable pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be physically fit to crawl, climb, stand, walk and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
  • Must not currently or in the future require sponsorship to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be willing to travel; minimum 40%.
