Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company is seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to join the Low Observables team, focusing on Signature Management & Survivability. The role involves expertise in aircraft stealth signature reduction, infrared susceptibility, and computational electromagnetics, among other areas. The candidate will be responsible for performing and analyzing vehicle signature predictions, conducting laboratory measurements, and engaging in the design and testing of advanced infrared materials and technologies.

  • Perform, analyze, and communicate vehicle signature predictions using Unix-based codes and tools.
  • Conduct laboratory measurements of material coupons to determine physical, optical, electrical, and/or environmental properties.
  • Design, prototype, and test advanced infrared materials, coatings, treatments, and hardware components.
  • Engage in research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabricating, and testing of advanced infrared or visual metamaterials.
  • Plan, perform, post-process, and communicate results of laboratory, field, flight, and vehicle signature measurements.
  • Develop, test, and maintain signature prediction tools using C++, Java, and Fortran.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Optics.
  • Experience in infrared (IR), optics, photonics, computational electromagnetics (CEM), RF, or electromagnetics.
  • Master's degree or above in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or Optics.
  • Previous experience in low observables (LO), survivability, or susceptibility.
  • Experience in infrared (IR) signature, IR cameras/sensors, radar cross section (RCS), or RF antenna design.
  • Expertise in LO modeling and predictions: CEM, Hybrid Finite Element, Boundary Integral method (FE-BI), Method of Moments (MoM), HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, FDTD, EO/IR.
  • Experience with LO integration / multi-discipline air vehicle systems design.
  • Knowledge of RADAR, RF materials, RF material measurements.
  • Experience in project or program management and execution of signature technology IRAD & CRAD projects.
  • Programming with C/C++, Java, Fortran, Matlab, Python.
  • CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing.
