About The Position

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the range extender EV pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Be responsible for the electrical hardware design of all infotainment audio components including speakers and audio amplifiers. You will cover from clean sheet of paper through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for Scout all-electric pick-up and rugged SUVs. Work with Purchasing and Finance counterparts to develop technical specifications in support of the quoting and sourcing process. Work with Tier 1 suppliers, key VW Group module owners, and VW Group lead design & release engineers to release all appropriate IID infotainment audio components. Be part of a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development among team members. Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing. Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262, Worst Case Circuit Analysis and any other engineering activities aimed at meeting the highest engineering standards for all the components under your responsibility. Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations. Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly. Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver components and systems that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or combined electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the infotainment audio component areas with relevant automotive assignments covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Knowledge of infotainment software stacks and System-On-Chip as they pertain to the design of the infotainment control head.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in infotainment systems, employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Understanding of infotainment system interactions with chassis, drive, OBD, communications and audio systems.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Practical knowledge of infotainment system validation and verification processes and tools.
