About The Position

The IT Technician at Galpin Motors Inc. is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support services across multiple locations in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, configuring systems for new hires, and ensuring optimal performance and security of IT systems. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and vendors, as well as participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in technical support or similar position.
  • Understanding of IT principles, networking, operating systems, and security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a technical support role or similar position.
  • Proficiency in operating systems, including OS X, Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with configuring firewalls and switches to enhance network security.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
  • Experience with VoIP troubleshooting and support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end user technical support via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for workstations, printers, phones, scanners, network connectivity, and software applications.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Configure new hire systems and perform IT onboarding for new employees.
  • Assist with user access, creation, editing, and troubleshooting in Active Directory, Google Workspace, and various software applications.
  • Hands-on assistance in the server/networking room with patch cabling as well as infrastructure maintenance and management.
  • Proactively monitor systems for optimal performance and security.
  • Deploy new equipment and handle upgrade requests efficiently.
  • Partner and communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and vendors (both verbally and in writing).
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to the improvement of IT processes.
  • Provide basic training to end-users on using hardware and software applications.
  • Collaborate with other departments and vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide support for A/V equipment in office conference rooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
