The Information Technology/Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of the software and hardware communications network infrastructure for Kiamichi Electric Cooperative. This role ensures the integrity and security of IT systems, manages day-to-day operations, and supports system integration and enhancements. The position requires a strong technical background in both hardware and software applications to effectively manage and troubleshoot IT systems.

  • Design, install, maintain, and support the software/hardware communications network infrastructure.
  • Ensure the integrity of software used by Kiamichi Electric Cooperative staff.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations and security of networks, endpoints, and servers.
  • Integrate, modify, and enhance all software and databases.
  • Ensure system backups are properly configured and maintained.
  • Manage Microsoft operating systems, Veeam backup solutions, Office 365 Administration, and VMware infrastructure.
  • Oversee the Cybersecurity posture of the organization.
  • Develop SQL, Access, or Crystal queries and reports for staff.
  • Troubleshoot and repair software/hardware issues, working with vendors as necessary.
  • Evaluate IT software and hardware for effectiveness.
  • Inspect and maintain all communication systems.
  • Assist in training personnel on various software applications.
  • Plan for future material and equipment needs related to IT equipment.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment and support the Mission Statement.
  • A four-year degree in a computer/IT related field is preferred.
  • An associate degree in Computer/IT related field or Tech Certification with extensive work experience may be substituted.
  • Prior experience using various computer OS such as Windows is required.
  • Experience in iOS is required.
  • Experience in Microsoft based programs such as Access or SQL, including ODBC applications, is required.
  • Knowledge of server virtualization, common hypervisors, and hyper convergent systems.
  • Experience with Veeam backup solutions.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Administration.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security solutions, VLANs, VoIP, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) and cabling (fiber and copper).
  • Ability to mount and install equipment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
