The New School in NYC is the only university where a world-renowned design school comes together with premier undergraduate and graduate programs and colleges to create a more just, beautiful, and better-designed world. The Information Technology Office is looking for Student assistants who will support the office in answering questions and staffing computer lab or equipment center locations.   • Assist with in-person questions and answering phone calls.
  • Answer chats on the Information Technology (IT) website.
  • Provide support for the New School technology learning spaces.
  • Must be customer service-oriented, including an abundance of patience, kindness, and helpfulness.
  • Must be tech-savvy with a willingness to learn basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work within IT guidelines and enforce policy and procedures.
  • Available to work at least 3 shifts per week, up to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Comfort in assisting with basic technology troubleshooting and support.
  • Stellar communication skills.
  • Knowledge of audio/video equipment and multi-media design applications.
  • Ability to assess problems, troubleshoot, escalate, and report on issues.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams in the Information Technology organization.
