As an Information Technology Specialist (Network) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security Department (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the integrity of network systems. Your primary responsibilities will include configuring and maintaining firewalls and intrusion protection systems to ensure a secure network environment. You will work closely with various security devices, such as intrusion detection systems, to establish a robust network security framework. Monitoring network security service performance will be essential, as you will need to track and address potential intrusion or firewall issues proactively. In addition to security management, you will analyze and diagnose networked system failures, isolating the sources of problems related to equipment, software, or applications. Your expertise will be crucial in resolving IT interface problems within the network infrastructure. You will also be responsible for configuring and optimizing various network devices, including hubs, routers, switches, VPNs, and encryptors, to enhance network performance and capacity. Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure will be part of your duties, as well as leading IT system development projects to ensure effective network environments. You will monitor IT project risks to ensure that projects remain on schedule, within budget, and that deliverables meet quality standards. This position requires a strong focus on cybersecurity, project management, and network operations, making it essential for you to possess a comprehensive understanding of these areas to succeed in this role.
