About The Position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a motivated Information Technology Specialist to support IT operations in a mission-focused environment. This role works under the indirect supervision of senior systems administrators, performing advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of computer systems, peripherals, network devices, and telephony across multiple classification levels. The IT Specialist L2 supervises entry-level support technicians, manages workflow through a ticketing system, and enforces customer service and technical standards. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining hardware, cabling, racks, UPS systems, and LAN connectivity; resolving CAC issues; managing hardware and software accountability; supporting equipment moves; and sanitizing or disposing of IT equipment in accordance with security policies, including support for classified material handling and occasional travel. The position also supports printers, phones, and audiovisual systems, provides technical recommendations for improvements, and performs other IT-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • 5+ years of relevant DoD experience, including at least 4 years supporting SAP and/or SCI environments
  • Willingness and ability to consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, if required
  • Experience supporting classified IT systems and secure networks
  • Bachelor' degree: Arts (BA), Science (BS)
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • CompTIA Security+, equivalent or higher as defined by DoDM 8140.03 DCWF code 451 System Administrator-Intermediate

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain PC systems, servers, networks, hardware, wireless networking, and related software
  • Install, test, configure, upgrade, and modify hardware and software systems
  • Provide direct client network support and multi-level Help Desk troubleshooting for hardware and software issues
  • Perform account creation, modification, and deletion in accordance with security policies
  • Configure, support, and maintain desktop and laptop systems
  • Administer Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, including scheduling and configuration as required
  • Maintain network and standalone servers, workstations, security monitoring systems, and system documentation
  • Analyze and resolve system anomalies to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Prepare systems for operational use and support operational testing activities
