About The Position

The Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) position at the Department of Defense involves serving as a Cyber Security IT Specialist under the supervision of the Chief of the Cyber Compliance Branch. The role focuses on providing IT portfolio services support to regional and installation users, ensuring that IT functions and requirements are met satisfactorily. The specialist will assist with project management tasks, including creating Performance Work Statements and managing compliance with regulatory requirements, while also organizing and coordinating changes to meet mission requirements for installation networks.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be Information Assurance trained/certified IAW DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2 within 6 months of appointment.
• Experience in software patch management for endpoints in accordance with IAVM and CVE programs.
• Experience in analyzing, reporting, and assessing countermeasure effectiveness against Cybersecurity incidents.
• Ability to prepare authorization documents, status reports, risk analyses, and other technical documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in project management within IT environments.
• Knowledge of federal employment regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide ARMY IT Portfolio services support to regional and installation users.
• Assist with project management functions such as creating Performance Work Statements (PWS) and acquisition packages.
• Organize, coordinate, and schedule changes to meet day-to-day and future mission IA requirements for installation networks.
• Identify new requirements for communications modernization and long-term life cycle.
