Under general direction of Service Management & Operations (SMO) Information Technology Manager II (IT Mgr II), the Information Technology Specialist II (IT Spec II) will act as a technical resource & facilitator of technical projects & requests. Assignments require an advanced level of organizational/business understanding and support of innovative technical pursuits. The IT Spec II will be a part of a team responsible for ensuring that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology is being utilized during the data gathering and build of a California Department of Technology (CDT) service request. This position is an advanced level strategic leader accountable for ensuring that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology has developed and documented complex technical standards and governance for operational practices. Additionally, the IT Spec II will be accountable for ensuring that the SMO processes are completed from the initiation of a project/request to the closeout of the project/request including solution development, builds, and decommission activities and provides direction to the SMO participants ensuring the timely and satisfactory fulfillment of requests. The IT Spec II is a technical liaison who will participate and lead in technical project management onboarding activities which include but are not limited to confirming high-level requirements, ensuring required documentation is complete, architectural reviews, gathering and scoping calls, and planning implementation schedules. The IT Spec II will work closely with management, solution architects, technical staff from all service areas and account management staff, and project teams.

  • Act as a technical resource & facilitator of technical projects & requests.
  • Ensure that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology is being utilized during the data gathering and build of a California Department of Technology (CDT) service request.
  • Ensure that the Service Delivery Lifecycle methodology has developed and documented complex technical standards and governance for operational practices.
  • Ensure that the SMO processes are completed from the initiation of a project/request to the closeout of the project/request including solution development, builds, and decommission activities and provides direction to the SMO participants ensuring the timely and satisfactory fulfillment of requests.
  • Participate and lead in technical project management onboarding activities which include but are not limited to confirming high-level requirements, ensuring required documentation is complete, architectural reviews, gathering and scoping calls, and planning implementation schedules.

  • Experience in application development
