About The Position
The Automation and Containerization Specialist performs a wide variety of tasks that require regular innovative problem solving and will be responsible for those activities relating to automating the deployment and management of software infrastructure stack components, including maintaining automation start and stop application servers. Must have expert knowledge of the Automation practices, utilizing tools such as Ansible, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes/OpenShift Container Platform, Podman/Docker, and Python. Must have expert knowledge of large scale, complex IT system automated deployment techniques and best practices. Responsible for coordinating, configuring, and performing the more complex large-scale software deployments. Expected to work cooperatively with bureau and Technology Services Division (TSD) technical staff in support of planning and software implementation activities and promotes an environment and atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation consistent with the department's values among staff and managers. Promotes, establishes, and maintains relationships with representatives from across different divisions within the department. This position requires planned off hours support on a rotating weekly basis as well as occasional unplanned off hours support.
