The Public Safety Communications (PSC), Microwave Engineering Services, CAPSNET Access unit is responsible for a wide array of engineering activities and services related to the public safety communications systems engineering and design for various public safety agencies of California. Under the direction of the Senior Telecommunications Engineer, this Information Technology Specialist I position is responsible for providing comprehensive database management support relating to the planning, installation and billing of statewide telecommunications system services. Working collaboratively with telecom engineers and other IT specialists in the Division, this role performs a wide array of activities related to systems development and management, including but not limited to design, analysis, security, support and maintenance of telecom network systems interfacing with or using the California Public Safety Microwave Network (CAPSNET) Core Infrastructure. This role independently performs systems administration, analysis, management, and support; implements security control utilizing industry tools/standards, best practices, and technologies. This position performs duties within the software engineering, client services, system engineering and information security engineering domains within an Operational Technology (OT) network.
