About The Position

The Information Technology Specialist 2 (NY HELPs) position is a full-time role within the Office of Information Technology Services, focusing on providing design support and troubleshooting for F5 Networks hardware and software. The role involves processing ITSM requests, assisting in the resolution of critical incidents, and supporting agency clients under the direction of a senior IT specialist.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science, or a bachelor's degree in any field with one year of experience in information technology.
• 60 semester credit hours including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology, or two years of professional experience in information technology.
• Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with F5 Networks hardware and software.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary design support for F5 Networks hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to F5 Networks.
• Process ITSM requests for load balancing, firewall, and security policies.
• Assist in the resolution of SEV1 calls involving F5 equipment.
• Support agency clients with their IT needs.
