About The Position

Chevron is seeking interns in the Software Engineering and Application Engineering roles to contribute to innovative digital solutions in a cutting-edge environment. The position focuses on developing, testing, and supporting software systems while collaborating with global teams to advance the energy transition and reduce carbon intensity in line with the company's sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building solutions in one of the following: C#, C++, Angular, Node.js, SQL, Ansible, R, Java, Python.
  • Familiarity with Gitflow and source control management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle (plan, design, develop, test, release, maintain and support, decommission).

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, Service Now, Ansible, and Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban etc.
  • Experience developing with low-code platforms (e.g., PowerApps) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated business negotiation skills, influence, conflict resolution, and resolving technical stalemates.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on coding to deliver functional, innovative software solutions.
  • Utilize CI/CD tooling to deploy software and iterate on solutions.
  • Design and develop data integration and data management practices and tools.
  • Frequently work with global teams across time zones and provide support to application/solutions.
  • Hands-on development for integrating existing solutions with larger enterprise ecosystem (e.g., API development, Azure Data Factory).
  • Understand technical requirements to maintain & support applications.
  • Deploy, configure, support and enhance vendor software packages.
