About The Position

The IT Representative, under direct supervision, will monitor and respond to network, computing hardware, and software problems reported by end users. They will act as the initial contact for all application systems problems, analyzing, debugging, testing, and documenting problems or recommending solutions. They will be responsible for assisting with the installation of workstations and associated hardware and solving basic problems. Our IT Representative must embody Pelican’s Core Values and provide excellent service in all that they do.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in help desk tracking, Information Technology functions, or related functions.
  • 2-year college degree in Information Technology or completion of a specialized study at a business school related to Information Technology.
  • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams without training.
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a technical liaison between computer systems users, vendors, and IT.
  • Assisting in application enhancements to existing computer systems.
  • Serving as an information resource for staff users, including determination of the most appropriate date source, providing or arranging application-based report writing, or educating users to retrieve the information themselves.
  • Assigning technical aspects of conversions, file expansions, and interfaces.
  • Remain knowledgeable of operations and the computer systems within client departments to provide comprehensive support.
  • Remains on-call as needed and determined by IT Management.
