The Information Technology Project Manager for the City of Dallas is responsible for overseeing and managing technology projects related to the repair of equipment in city vehicles and mobile devices. This role involves coordinating various IT initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and facilitating communication among stakeholders, vendors, and team members.

  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates projects in software development, IT modification, procurement, installation, or turnkey system implementation.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates project planning software to ensure smooth operations and effective time management.
  • Monitors and manages project progress, schedule, tasks, resources, budget, and expenses; communicates with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Evaluates, plans, coordinates, and manages information technology projects using effective methodologies.
  • Initiates projects and performs analysis of end user and stakeholder business needs, feasibility, project definition, and project authorization.
  • Evaluates and reviews vendor proposals and makes recommendations for contracted services.
  • Monitors project cost versus budget to ensure completion within budget; reviews and pre-approves external project expenses.
  • Manages project scope and quality to ensure deliverables are acceptable and fulfill project specifications.
  • Identifies and addresses potential project risks and assists in designing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Compiles, prepares, and distributes project information, status reports, and budget expenditures; conducts project status meetings.
  • Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, business, or information technology-related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Information Technology Project Management.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure and development.
  • Knowledge of Project Management techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate project deliverables, timelines, vendors, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Current PMP certification is preferred.
