About The Position

We are seeking an Information Technology Project Manager to join our team in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will have Project Management experience with a focus on transition management and execution of deliverables. Responsible for leading complex IT initiatives from initiation through successful delivery and transition to operational support. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and strategic thinking to bridge the gap between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership. The manager will develop and execute comprehensive transition plans, ensuring that new systems, applications, and processes are seamlessly integrated into the business-as-usual (BAU) environment with minimal disruption. A key component of this position is the relentless focus on producing high-quality, measurable deliverables that meet stakeholder requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines. The successful candidate must be highly adaptable and skilled in both traditional waterfall and agile methodologies to navigate the complexities inherent in large-scale IT projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years of Project Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • DoDM 8140.03 (former DoD 8570.01-M) Intermediate qualification (e.g. Security+ CA) within 6 months of starting position
  • Active Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • ITIL v4
  • PMI-PMP
  • Agile Cert - SAFE or PMI-ACP
  • SCRUM Master experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor program timelines, milestones, and resource usage
  • Evaluate existing client operations, and define the management approach for the team
  • Design the governance and program management office framework
  • Develop or manage the development of roles and responsibilities for the organization structure
  • Estimate and specify PMO resource needs. Communicate those needs to the People workstream and participate in interviews as needed.
  • Specify technical and facilities requirements. Communicate those requirements to the appropriate personnel and verify their completion.
  • Verify that the PMO and governance functions are ready for go-live date in production
