About The Position

The Information Technology Manager II position is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, execution, and monitoring of applications and IT systems within the Department of Commerce. This role involves managing software development, consulting with management, and assisting team members with IT needs to ensure a stable and secure environment. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-office meetings and reports directly to the IT Director.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more agency-wide programs.
• Determine program goals and objectives and chair committees to support the program.
• Plan and manage projects and programs.
• Write project/program plans, recommendations, and findings.
• Act as a resource for management and staff, providing technical support within the Department of Commerce.
• Meet with vendors and manage the use of existing third-party products, evaluating their usefulness and cost.
• Supervise subordinate personnel, including hiring, delegating assignments, training, and evaluating performance.
• Design software solutions and implement approved software designs.
• Analyze workflow, establish priorities, develop standards, and set deadlines.
• Anticipate the impact of new or modified software on existing standards and systems.
