About The Position

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking an IT Intern to join their team! This summer 2026 IT internship is a full-time, paid position that will last for 10 weeks. As an intern, you will be assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within your chosen field of study. This program is structured to immerse you in a learning-intensive environment, providing insights into the business world and fostering hands-on experience. Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to acquire new skills and enhance existing ones, all within a dynamic and forward-thinking business context. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various departments, allowing you to grasp the entirety of a project’s lifecycle, from its initiation to completion.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Self-motivated and eager learner who wants to contribute to the success of IT initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Impeccable integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues for employees.
• Provide first level support for IT-related queries.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, and updating of hardware and software.
• Monitor system performance and report potential issues.
• Support network administration tasks, including setting up workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.
• Assist in maintaining network security protocols.
• Update and maintain IT documentation including user guides and system configuration.
• Collaborate on IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
