About The Position

The Information Technology & Innovation Director at Adams County is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in developing and implementing integrated technology solutions across the organization. This role involves analyzing technology trends, managing financial resources, and ensuring high-quality service delivery while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the IT department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience.
  • At least three (3) years of director or assistant director-level experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • CGCIO or PMP certification desired.
  • Local government technology management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and implementation of integrated IT initiatives to support business strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Establish a vision for the department and deliver targeted recommendations.
  • Create and manage a strategic plan for the ITi department.
  • Initiate and direct transparent service level agreements (SLAs) with customers.
  • Anticipate needs for new or modified systems and seek IT solutions.
  • Manage and resolve problems related to change initiatives.
  • Implement mature ITSM practices and maintain a governance structure.
  • Engage in collaborative planning processes for service delivery.
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate ITi personnel.
  • Advise County leadership on existing and emerging IT issues.
  • Represent the department on internal and external committees.
  • Manage multiple project activities and budgets.
  • Direct the allocation of resources to achieve goals.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation.
