About The Position

Under general supervision, analyzes business needs and facilitates the elicitation of user requirements; documents and prioritizes business requirements; verifies the project deliverables; and identifies business reengineering opportunities and workflow from the business perspective for complex information technology systems and business processes. Lead and coordinate lower-level IT analyst staff performing project business analyses and related duties, as assigned. Participates in implementing governance, processes, and tools required to successfully manage requirements for systems development and implementation, including initial requirements capture, requirements change management, and traceability to testing and delivered functionality. Helps resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalates issues where appropriate. Provides support to business users by coordinating with IT staff to help review and provide input for the design of the IT system from the business perspective. Responsible for assessing information technology systems and making suggestions for how they can better meet business needs by evaluating technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicates tradeoff to business partners and works with them to shape requirements. Leads the elicitation of business requirements using business analysis tools and methodologies such as use case modeling and use case narratives, and models conceptual data, functional specifications, and processes. Bridges the gap between IT and the business by documenting business and technical requirements for successful IT systems, oversees their operations, and provides consultations on what kind of features or modifications would best serve the organization's strategic goals. Recognizes the strategic requirements of the business and formulates growth plans by staying informed about the most recent advancements in information technology applications.
