About The Position

SMX is seeking a highly motivated Journeyman Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with demonstrated experience to support the development phase of a project relative to software supporting aircraft and weapons systems. You will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting across the NAVAIR community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information systems Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure Respond to computer security breaches and viruses Provide maintenance and creation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. Requirements

  • Clearance required: Secret
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Information Assurance related field
  • Thorough knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls/Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation (assessment and authorization) Process
  • Security + or equivalent DOD INST 8570 compliant certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Evaluate-STIG, and eMASSter
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and succinctly
