BETA Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our critical information security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will operate with minimal supervision and demonstrate exceptional self-management and technical expertise. How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Implement and maintain information security protocols Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other relevant security frameworks Manage system accreditation and authorization processes Develop and update security documentation Perform periodic security audits and reporting Support incident response and mitigation efforts

Requirements

  • Active Secret-level security clearance
  • Minimum 3-5 years of information systems security and administration experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and system administration
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical skills in system management and security
  • User account and access management
  • Scripting and automation
  • System patching and maintenance
  • Backup and recovery procedures
  • Performance monitoring
  • Troubleshooting complex technical issues

Nice To Haves

  • CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) experience
  • Previous DoD or government security experience
  • Information Security certifications (CISSP, Security+, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise-level system management tools
  • Proficiency in security and system administration tools
  • Understanding of network and system security architecture
  • Experience with risk management frameworks
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain information security protocols
  • Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses

  • System Maintenance and Patching Manage and execute system updates and security patches
  • Perform system configuration and installation
  • Conduct hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Backup and Recovery Operations Implement and test backup procedures
  • Manage data recovery processes
  • Maintain backup integrity and security
  • System Performance Monitoring Conduct daily operational tasks (log reviews, health checks)
  • Monitor system performance and optimize resources
  • Generate performance and security reports
