About The Position

Riverside Research is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with a broad range of experience to manage both classified and unclassified systems in our Fairborn office. The ISSO maintains day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of the cybersecurity tools to protect classified information systems. The ISSO conducts reviews, audits, and technical inspections to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses and ensures that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional. In this role, you will report to the ISSM while preparing and maintaining security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation, performing audits, performing incident response activities, interfacing with client and/or Government personnel, and maintaining a thorough understanding of NIST 800-53 controls.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years' relevant experience
  • Above Experience to consist of: NIST 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) based accreditations
  • Working in a classified environment consisting of multiple Collateral, SCI and/or SAP systems
  • Managing multiple projects at one time that could have many tasks within each.
  • Working with Windows operating systems
  • Developing standard operating procedures and system security plans
  • Current DoD 8570.1-M IAM Level 1 (e.g., Security+)
  • Self-motivated and possess good written, verbal, listening and presentation skills
  • Strong customer service, leadership and team building skills
  • Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management, ability to multitask and prioritize.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Federal Government computing systems and environments.
  • Experience with A&A systems e.g., eMASS and/or XACTA/SNOW
  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, validate, and oversee operational security posture for all assigned information systems.
  • Provide inventory, auditing, and logging of systems events for all systems under their purview
  • Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support Authorization and Accreditation (A&A).
  • Identify, report, and document system anomalies and incidents as required
  • Ensure that changes to an IS, its environment, and/or operational needs that may affect the authorization status are reported to the system owner and IS Security Manager (ISSM)
  • Create the necessary artifacts, policies and documents necessary to satisfy the RMF process and obtain timely accreditation of all applicable systems under the guidance of the corporate ISSM
  • Interface with other IA/IT team members, other security disciplines (industrial security, physical security, special programs security, etc.), program personnel, and government security representatives
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
