About The Position

The Information Systems Security Engineer II will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of delivering and maintaining mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security of company IT assets. This role is an experienced and innovative cyber focused engineer to analyze organization computer and network systems. An individual who can identify and fix any potential issues related to code/programming or general system errors, fraud, cyber-attacks, leaked data, or other security breaches. Qualified systems engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or information systems security engineering or cyber-analysis. This role requires expertise working with secure and cyber-safe principles that support our organization's critical platforms while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures are in place.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • 2-4 years of experience with IT systems or in an information assurance or cyber role
  • Experience with SEIM and event management software and tools like Splunk, Defender, etc.
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably with Microsoft Cloud platforms
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
  • Occasional travel
  • Onsite in our Orlando, FL location

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
  • Technical Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional and other vendors desired

Responsibilities

  • Work with security operations center (SOC) and internal cyber resources to spot weak points
  • Develop software solutions to close holes in our information systems security posture
  • Address application and programming security flaws
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Address daily maintenance of cloud, mobile and local system cyber capabilities
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (onsite/help desk), 2 (subject matter support) and 3 (vendor) support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
